During late 2022 and the first half of 2023, the idea arose to offer Ukrainian refugees in Deventer and its surroundings the opportunity to set up their own company in the Netherlands. To facilitate this, the ‘Entrepreneurial Ukraine’ Foundation was established in the summer of 2023, which took over the training and guidance activities.
The ultimate objective is that as soon as the situation allows, the company can be moved to Ukraine, often while retaining the customer base built up in the Netherlands, and can be further expanded there. This should help to accelerate the reconstruction of the country and offer Ukrainians a better future perspective.
The Foundation is financially supported by the Municipality of Deventer. The Royal Netherlands Army supports the Foundation by making coaches available from the team of reservists.
